My current work is a combination of my interpretation of "live edge" as well as creating pieces that capture the reactions of different glass when it is exposed to heat

Another technique I use is cutting glass into 1/4" strips and then cutting them into 1/2" long pieces. These pieces are assembled on edge to create a look that could not be created using flat glass.

Once assembled the glass is put in a kiln and slowly taken up to a temperature that allows the glass to flow together.

Each piece is designed and glass is cut to create the desired design. Some pieces include a design element called "murrine" which are round pieces with concentric rings. I make these by creating a cane using a kiln that is elevated. I melt glass in the kiln and extrude the cane from the kiln bottom while the glass is in a molten state. I allow the glass to cool, and then chop it, turn the glass on end to create a unique finished piece.
